FAQs

What is the theme of the wedding all about?

The boogie bayou is a place deep in the swamp where everyone dances the night away. Get trippy and come dressed in your best psychedelic swamp attire!

The headier, the better, maaaaaaaaaan.

What should I wear?

First and foremost, you’re going to need comfortable shoes! The ground of the venue is gravel and we’ll be second lining through the famously crumbling streets of New Orleans between the ceremony and reception.

Costumes and funky attire are encouraged, but not required.

What kind of food will be served?

We will be hosting a New Orleans-style cocktail reception. Small plates will be available from buffet tables, passed platters, and serving windows in place of a seated dinner service. We are still planning our menu, but we will have a variety of meaty, vegetarian, and vegan options available. Check back on the event page for more info as it becomes available.

Should we rent a car?

It’s probably not necessary. Our city is pretty small and most, if not all, of the wedding activities will be within a 10-minute drive in an area with lots of Lyfts and Ubers. If you do rent a car, parking is pretty easy everywhere except for the French Quarter.

The venue has plentiful parking.

What neighborhood should we stay in?

We recommend you stay in the Marigny, Bywater, French Quarter, CBD or Treme.

Please see the Travel page for more information about lodging options, as well as some words of warning about booking an AirBnB.

Are children welcome?

Yes! This venue is all ages and there are lots of nooks and crannies for little ones to explore.

What other fun stuff should we do while we are in town?

Where are the bride and groom staying?

Tegan & Alex will be staying at the Hotel Monteleone in the French Quarter. You can find more information about the hotel and the block of rooms here.
